Today let's dig into the difference between the $100 and $1000 photographer. Hint: It goes far beyond the $900 bucks.
So it is not a secret, we all want to make more money! We all want to be that successful photographer that has amazing clients and charges high prices, but how do we get there? Are just some photographers more lucky than others? Or do they live in Eagleton? (If you are not a fan of Parks and Rec. you might totally miss my joke - Sorry!)
The answer is neither one. This has nothing to to with luck or location, but everything to do with the experience you give to your clients!
YOUR COMPANY'S VALUE DEPENDS ON THE EXPERIENCE YOU PROVIDE!
That being said, if you want to charge more money you need to give your clients a remarkable experience!
Photography is a luxury service, therefore clients expect to be treated as such. Let's forget about photography for a minute and think about your favorite brands. How do they treat you? How do they make you feel? Go ahead, I will wait...
Most likely your favorite brands make you FEEL SOMETHING. That something is what makes you go back to them over and over again. That feeling is the one that leads to a sale.
This is exactly what we want!
WE want our clients to feel something so amazing when they come in contact with our work that they can't resist investing in our services!
Now that we know we MUST lead with feelings and a remarkable experience, you need to think about the ideas and services you are going to implement into your business to get there.
Remember that this goes far beyond pretty images - that is a given.
Here are a few ideas to offer to your clients:
- In-person consultations
- In-person sales presentations
- Gifts
- Custom design session
- Exclusive locations for their sessions
- Referral programs
- Unique products
- Exquisite packaging of their products
The list can go on. Think about what is important to you and what is going to make you stand out in this crowded industry.
Once you have decided on what kind of experience you are going to give your clients, stick to it and promote it! Make sure you are making it clear on your website and social media.
